Online Computer Training: Network Training
Online education is essential to modern business. Though many employees may have extensive higher learning degrees and many more of the population must work full time to support their families, not all can afford to take the time off from their busy lives to pursue full time formal training. Online education has proved invaluable to such individuals, either to brush up on some skills, learn new areas of expertise, or even to gain certification for a job they may already have.
In a fast paced silicone age and even faster growing networking age, it is necessary to have basic skills in the computer field. Once basic skills in the computer field are obtained, why stop there. With a few short online computer training courses, learning to network computers should be an essential tool in any person's mental tool belt. Why wait for a technician if you can do it yourself?
What Is Computer Networking?
Computer networking consists of linking computers together either wirelessly, to each other, to a group of computers, or to the internet. Although it sounds simple enough, connecting two or more computers together entails much risk that must be protected against. So learning how to follow network protocols and safety procedures is essential to setting up networks.
There are 6 basic types of networks. The personal area network (PAN) consists of all devices close to a computer such as the keyboard, printer, fax, telephone, or any other device that may be within a few meters. The Local Area Network (LAN) would be all computers within a given range, connected together, or using the same wireless/wired router. Other networks include the Campus Area Network (CAN), Metropolitan area network (MAN), Wide are network (WAN), the internet/intranet, and the world wide web.
Anyplace along these lines there is room for error. With new cases of computer viruses, hacks, and other detrimental attacks on computers today is necessary to have at least a basic understanding not only how to set up computer networks, but also security protocols and safety measures.
Why Train Online, Can't I Just Pick Up A Book?
Unless you only wish to set up your computer and expect to have very little personal data on it. Or you want to call someone to fix it every time there's a small problem (or you move). Then you probably want to take a short online computer training course especially designed for home users of computer networking.
If you work for a small or large company, or would like a great paying job; either with the cable company, Phone Company, or networking service; then you probably want to take an accredited certification or recertification course. Gaining an education at home will free you to work your job and study in time borrowed from your personal life. This way, you can already start working for a company, or continue working for your current employer and hone some fine skills that gain you extra income or give you something extra for your next resume.
